Maths mantle: Childerwood

This mantle was during maths lessons covering shape, space and measure. It started with playground equipment design (shape) and ended with designing pens for animals (problem solving and measure). What exciting news! The park has been awarded a large sum of money from lottery funds to improve the park. This will hopefully help it to attract more visitors.

The first job that needed doing was a new adventure playground. A company called Playstuff agreed to make climbing frames out of natural materials, like wooden logs, as long as they had detailed plans to follow. Childerwood employees set to work straight away and designed some great equipment!

The group of boys are making a small model for playstuff .

This is Aby making a triangular prism.

Katie is making a cube.

This is Rebecca and Becky making a cuboid and a pyramid.

The finished designs!

Hard working Childerwood employees are now trying to sort out the animal pens before our rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs and goats arrive. So much to do!
